This Privacy Policy explains what information Narrative DNA LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information — if you sign in, your email address and authentication identity, handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Anonymous usage tracking — before you sign in, we assign your browser a random identifier (stored in your browser's local storage) to track your free-trial usage. This is not linked to your real-world identity.
• Script content — the screenplay or script text you upload, processed to generate your analysis.
• Billing information — if you make a purchase, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number.
• Usage data — basic technical data such as request logs, needed to operate and secure the Service.

3. How We Use Information

• To generate the analysis you request
• To enforce free-tier limits and manage paid plans/credits
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To operate, secure, and improve the Service
• To communicate with you about your account or purchases

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with the following providers, solely as necessary to run the Service:

• Anthropic — optional AI-generated features send structural and statistical data derived from your script to Anthropic's Claude API. The current features do not send your script's dialogue or prose.
• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Vercel, Railway, and Neon — hosting, backend infrastructure, and database storage.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Script content is processed to generate your analysis and may remain temporarily accessible in your library during the current backend runtime. We do not guarantee retention, and script text is not written to long-term backups. Account and billing records are retained as needed for legal and accounting purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies (via Clerk) to keep you signed in, and browser local storage to track anonymous free-trial usage before you sign in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@narrativedna.io.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Users

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
